ABC AI Agents is the fitness-focused AI agent platform created after ABC Fitness acquired Replify in July. In an August 27 update, Replify described new controls for gym calls, campaign follow-up, and location routing. The update is worth watching if your gym loses inquiries while staff are coaching, checking members in, or closing the facility.

ABC Fitness confirmed the acquisition in its official July announcement. Replify published the specific August changes in its official product update. The feature descriptions below come from those companies. The testing advice is Leadspa's interpretation for gym operators.

What the August update confirms

Replify says gym teams can edit live campaigns without interrupting outreach that is already scheduled. It also describes more explicit control over the channel, timing, content, and rules in each campaign.

On the voice side, the update adds a new voice option called Adam, playable voice samples, and speed control. Replify also says the receptionist handles short answers better, which matters when a caller responds with a quick yes or no.

The update also covers live transfers for multi-location businesses. Replify says the agent can ask why the caller wants a transfer, use a custom transfer phrase, and route calls through separate location numbers or one shared number.

Finally, Replify describes personalized calls and follow-up texts, stronger inbox filters, and a limit for unusually long or silent calls. These controls are intended to protect staff time. They do not, by themselves, prove that a gym will book more tours.

What gyms should test first

Start with a missed-call scenario

Call during a busy class or after closing. Ask about membership, a trial visit, or a class schedule. Check whether the system captures the caller's reason and creates one clear next step.

A good first test is narrow. If you need a broader framework, our guide to evaluating an AI voice receptionist demo shows how to test a real task instead of judging the voice alone.

Test the transfer before the greeting sounds polished

Ask to speak with a specific location or a staff member. Listen for the reason the caller gives. Then check what the receiving person sees or hears. The goal is a handoff that keeps the caller from repeating the story.

If you operate more than one location, test a shared number and separate numbers. Do not assume the same routing rule works for both. Your CRM connection should also save the location and the reason for the call.

Measure the follow-up a new lead receives

Use one test caller and follow the full path. Record the message sent after the call, the timing, and whether the link or instruction is correct. Change one detail in the caller's request and confirm that the message changes with it.

This is where a receptionist becomes part of lead generation. Our guide to AI receptionist lead follow-up explains how to move from a useful conversation to one visible next action.

Try short answers and long silences

Say yes, no, or a single location name. Pause longer than a normal caller would. Then interrupt politely. You are checking whether the system can keep the conversation moving without guessing or holding the line forever.

Replify says its August release includes improvements for short answers and a limit for unusually long conversations or silence. Treat that as a vendor statement until your own calls show how it behaves. Our AI receptionist testing checklist can help you record the failures that a polished demo may skip.

What the update does not prove

The official release explains what Replify says it changed. It does not provide an independent benchmark for answer accuracy, transfer success, tour bookings, or lead conversion. It also does not tell every gym which plan, phone connection, integration, or rollout date will apply.

Ask for a test environment or a limited pilot. Use your own business hours, locations, membership questions, and transfer rules. Keep a simple record of completed tasks, wrong answers, missed context, and follow-up messages that needed correction.

Where this fits in your receptionist plan

The August changes are most useful when the underlying call flow is already clear. Our guide to setting up an AI voice receptionist covers the phone connection, business rules, and launch sequence.

Before you add more automation, decide what counts as a qualified gym lead. Our qualified lead guide can help you keep the questions focused and make the handoff easier for staff.

Leadspa can help you map the call flow and the next action before you expand to every location. Start with one missed-call use case. Measure it. Then decide what deserves more automation.
